Kerwin Vergil Burns, the son of the late Sherman Burns, II and the late Edna McCain Burns, born on December 27th, 1967, in Sylacauga, Alabama. At an early age, Kerwin accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Bobby L. Palmore.
Kerwin received his formal education in the Talladega County School System and graduated at B.B. Comer Memorial High school in Sylacauga, Alabama, with the class of 1986. After graduating he went to welding school and became a certified welder.
Kerwin departed this life on September 13th, 2022, under the care of Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman Burns, II and Edna McCain Burns, three brothers, John McCain, Jimmy McCain, and Henry McCain.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories, three son, Twins - Dontae Vergil Burns, Ellis Kerwin Burns & his youngest son, Kerwin Burns Jr. all of Georgia; one daughter, McKenzie Rosie Burns of Georgia; four sisters, Robbie McCain Nix, Debra Burns Marbury, Gloria Faye Spidel Glenn, amd Mildred McCain all of Sylacauga, Alabama; three Brothers, Joel (Edna Faye) McCain of Sylacauga, Alabama, Joe Simmons of Goodwater, Alabama and Sherman (Minister Deborah) Burns III of South Carolina; a special sister-in-law, Mae McCain of North Carolina; two special nieces, Kiandreia McCain of Childersburg, Alabama, and Sakenna Burns of Sylacauga, Alabama; three special nephews, Alvin Burns, Delimus Burns, and Brandon Burns all of Sylacauga, Alabama; a grateful thank you to Mr. William Duncan of Sylacauga, Alabama; one great-aunt, Ada Smoot of Goodwater, Alabama; three aunts, Rosie Burns Chambliss of Sylacauga, Alabama, Delores Burns Huntley of Rochester, New York, and Sarah Burns Canady of Moody, Alabama; one uncle, Jewell Burns of Sylacauga, Alabama and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
