Lena Mae Booker Nettles was born on December 13th, 1959, in Sycamore, Alabama to the parents of Ulyssus Booker, Sr. and Eppie Twymon Booker. Lena accepted Jehovah God at an early age. She became a member of the Kingdom Hall where she served faithfully.
Lena received her formal education in the Talladega County School System and graduated with the class of 1979 at Winterboro High School. After completing high school, Lena started her work career in the textile industry and became an employee with Russell Mills. Later she was employed with Talladega Nursing Home and MD’s Convenience Store.
Lena departed this walk of life on January 6th, 2023, under the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ulyssus and Eppie Booker, daughter, Lisa Bernice Booker, brother, Ulysses Booker, Jr., grandparents, Booker T. Booker, Sr., Lena Booker, Maggie Twymon and Bishop Twymon.
Her love will forever be cherished by her two brothers, Lewis (Samala) Booker of Eastaboga, AL, and Larry Bryant of Sylacauga, AL; nieces and nephews, Karnecia Booker, Mykyla Booker, Melody Booker, Antonio Booker, Carmyn Booker of Pell City, AL. Jairus Booker, Amiya Booker, Jairus Booker Jr., Malachi Booker of Montgomery, AL. Larry Bryant, Jr. of Jesup, GA; aunts and uncles, Booker T. Booker, Jr. of Selma, AL, and Vera (J) Booker of Selma, AL; cousins, Mariah Freeman (Ezekial Freeman, and Zavius Freeman) all of Gadsden, AL, Zandra Nash of Baltimore, MD; God daughter, Cleo Averitte (Kyla Averitte), God Nephew, Johnathen Toney; and a host of other relatives and friends.
