Ms. Betty Jean Carter was born on April 14, 1941 to the late Mr. John Thomas and Mrs. Minnie Anna Swain.
She joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
She attended and graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School, Childersburg, AL.
Ms. Carter began working for the City of Childersburg in September of 1979 until she retired.
Ms. Carter united in holy matrimony to Mr. Lawrence E. Carter on December 18, 1987. They were a happy union for fourteen years until Mr. Carter departed from this life on March 10, 2001.
Ms. Carter peacefully departed from this life on February 24, 2019 at her residence, Childersburg, AL.
Ms. Carter leaves to cherish her memories her God children (nieces and nephews), Mary Ann (Cassius) Lynch of Sylacauga, AL; Betty Ruth (Ollice) Cook of Childerburg, AL; Shirley Cook of Talladega, AL; Albert L. (Late Emma) Cook of Childersburg, AL; the late James (late Gladys) Cook of Talladega, AL; one living brother Eugene (Elizabeth) Cook, three late brothers, Hosea Grace, Willie Cook, Abrom Cook; one loving sister, Annie Laura Dodson and three late sisters, Rosie Mae Swain, Ernestine Chancellor, and Sarah Mae Cook and a host of other relatives and friends.
