Earlene (Townsend) Bilbrew

Earlene Townsend Bilbrew   was born September 16, 1943 in Gadsden, AL to the union of Pauline Hamilton and Andrew Townsend.  She was moved to Sylacauga at an early age and was adopted by Wilma and Leo Townsend.

            She was baptized at an early age at the Pine Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church.

            She graduated from E.H.S. class of 1962. Earlene moved to Chicago where she completed a long career at the Spiegel’s Headquarters.

            Earlene had one child, Christopher Townsend of Chicago. She also raised her only grandchild as her own, Crystal Murray-Falls of Iowa, whose children are Jayden and Kehlani.

            Mrs. Earlene Townsend Bilbrew departed from this life on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Walter Bilbrew, her brother, Michael Marsh, birth mother Pauline Hamilton, and adopted father, Leo Townsend.

            She leaves to cherish Wilma Townsend (adopted mother), Christopher Townsend (son), Crystal Murray-Falls (granddaughter) (Willie). Sisters: Annie Mae Townsend (Gadsden, AL), Paulette Marsh Ervin (Chickamauga, GA), Bobbie J McGhee (Huntsville, AL). Brothers: James Townsend (Gadsden,AL), Terry Townsend (Beloit,AL) (Eula), Lawrence Hale ( Chicago, IL), Rachel Duncan (sister-in-law)(Clyde), Walter Webster(stepson), John Lewis(stepson), and Kathy Brooks (stepdaughter), Ike Watkins Jr., Rev. C.L. Lewis, Melvin Lewis, Donald Bilbrew, Lillian Floyd and  Linda Faye Bilbrew.   A special friend in Frank Clisby and a host of nephews, nieces, and family.
