Gill C McKinney

Mr. Gill C. McKInney, 65, was born to the loving parentage of the late Tommy and Bernice McKinney on April 22, 1953, in Sylacauga, AL.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Corey McKinney, and two brothers, Louis McKinney and Floyd McKinney.  

Mr. McKinney departed his life on March 22, 2019 at Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, AL.

Gill, accepted Christ and joined Harper Spring Baptist Church.  He received formal education from East Highland High School where he graduated.  He was also a star quarterback for the East Highland football team.  After graduation, he became a master welder and was employed at M & N Alloy, where he worked for several years, and later became a supervisor.  He was also a barber and enjoyed cutting hair.  His hobbies included fishing, sports, and cooking.

He  leaves to cherish his memories two loving children, Steve (Elvina) Dozier of Clarksville, TN; and Keegan Carpenter of Bristol, CT; his grandchildren, Darius (Diandra Bondurant) Dozier of Columbus, GA; Jade Dozier and Desah Dozier of Clarksville, TN; his great -great grandchildren, Suriyah Richards, and Serani Bondurant - Dozier of Columbus, GA; brothers, Rev. Naman (Sharon) McKinney of Sylacauga, AL; Sylvester (Janet) McKinney of Birmingham, AL; Allison McKinney of Sylacauga, AL; sisters, Bonnie (Bill) Varner of Sylacauga, AL; Paulette McKinney of Birmingham, AL; and Alethia McKinney of Columbia, SC; Patricia Ware was his caregiver and special friend of Gill McKinney and family.  Whom Patricia will always have a special place in the hearts of the family entirely.
