Mrs. Mary Florence Lawson Carpenter, began life’s journey on July 16, 1939 in Camp Hill, AL, to the parentage of the late Virgil Lawson and Lillian Scott Hale.
Mrs. Carpenter confessed Christ as her Lord and personal Savior at an early age. She attended Sylacauga City Schools and graduated from East Highland High School and in 1958.
Mrs. Carpenter was united in holy matrimony to Samuel Earl 'Jacob' Carpenter in 1959, to that union five children were born.
Mrs. Carpenter worked for Drew Court Day Care Center in Sylacauga for over 25 years as teacher and administrator, she also worked at Talladega Day Care for a few years. Mrs. Carpenter was a role model for many young and older members of the Sylacauga community. "A Precious Gem" She loved gardening, sewing, and loved her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Quentin Malone, brothers, Virgil Lawson, John Earl, Jerry and Donald Hale.
Mrs. Carpenter answered the Master's call on July 2, 2019 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by loved ones.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Lucretia C. Holley, Everette S. Carpenter, Angela Carpenter and Cheryl C. (Tarvis) Pope all of Sylacauga, AL; and Genita V. Malone (Floyd) of Bristol, CT; Special children, Dessaline Carpenter, Alicia Walls and Michael Smith all of Sylacauga, AL; one sister, Lillian Pryor Hall (Larry), Orlando, FL; four brothers, Jesse Hale (Alma), Lawrence Hale (Patricia) and Benjamin Hale of Sylacauga, AL; and Victor Hale (Sylvia) of Sycamore, AL; sisters in law, Mildred Lawson and Delores Hale of Sylacauga, AL; Sadie Hale and Doleen Hale of Detroit, MI;
special caring caregivers, Carolyn Cook, Carolyn Jones, Angela Snipes, Diana A. Dark and Gloria Hughes; and a host of other relatives and friends.
