Albert Player, Jr.

Alpine, Alabama - Mr. Albert Player, Jr. earthly journey began on October 9, 1939, in Shelby County, Alabama to the parents of Albert Player, Sr. and Lillie Moncreff. 

Mr. Player accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. 

Mr. Player worked with the Talladega County Road Department for many years until his retirement.

He departed this walk of life on January 30, 2024, at his residence in Alpine, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Player and Lillie Moncreff, significant other, Ada White, sisters, Estella Webb, Elizabeth Player, Alberta Sawyer, Willie Mae Wilson, and Ella Bell Player, brother, Emmett Player, extended family, Earnestine Pearson, Ulysses (Fuzzy) White, and Dwight White, nephews, Willie Earl Player, Shep Wilson, Jr., and Lenell Player. 

His love will forever be cherished by three loving children, Tammy Barlow of Douglasville, GA, Karen (Courtney) Gamble of Sylacauga, AL, and Kevin White of Sylacauga, AL; extended family, Bertha Ashley of Sylacauga, AL, William White of Detroit, MI, Alfreda Milliner of Detroit, MI, Julie (Percy) Garrett of Sylacauga, AL, and Debra Davis of Sylacauga, AL; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life for Albert Player, Jr., 84, will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 1:00PM at Community Funeral Home Chapel, Sylacauga, Alabama. Pastor Randy Jones, eulogist.  Interment will commence in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Sylacauga, Alabama.  Public viewing will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, 1:00PM to 7:00PM at Community Funeral Home.
