Mrs. Alice Marie Whetstone Oden was born to the late Kelly Charles Whetstone and Ella Gaddis Whetstone on March 13, 1958 in Sylacauga, Alabama.

Mrs. Alice accepted Christ at an early age and united with Pine Grove Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama. Later she united with New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, West Palm Beach, FL.  Mrs. Alice was educated in the Talladega County School System and graduated from B.B. Comer High School in Sylacauga, AL.

Mrs. Alice later relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida after uniting in Holy Matrimony to James Raymond Oden. While in Florida, “Ms. Alice” as she was affectionately known served for more than 11 years as a security guard at the Dimick building in downtown West Palm Beach. She was a kind-hearted and loving woman. During her life she affected all she encountered.

Alice Marie Whetstone Oden departed this walk of life on October 15, 2021, in West Palm Beach, Florida. She is preceeded in death by her parents Kelly and Ella Whetstone, her sisters, Sarah Leonard, Katie Hubbard, Gladys Richardson and her brothers, Charles Whetstone, John L. Whetstone, and Bobby Whetstone, and her grandson, Devontae Whetstone.

Alice love will forever be cherished by her son, Carmine Whetstone of Goodwater, AL; two daughters, Shanika Whetstone of West Palm Beach, FL and April Whetstone of Sylacauga, AL; three bonus daughters, Jami Skelton of Goodwater, AL; Talisha Townsend and Nicole Deramo both of West Palm Beach, FL; five sisters, Lorene Whetstone of West Palm Beach, FL; Roberta Whetstone of Baltimore, MD; Gussie Murray, Joyce Pope, and Delois Slaughter all of Sylacauga, AL; six grandchildren, Andrea Whetstone, Jarvis Whetstone, and Isaiah Whetstone all of West Palm Beach, FL; Desmond Battle of Sycamore, AL; Teuana Morgan of Nashville, TN; Destiny Holmes of Sylacauga, AL; special friends, Charlene Washington and Jerry Banks both of West Palm Beach, FL; and Mildred Brown of Phoenix, AL; she is also survived by three great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends
