Sylacauga, Alabama - Anika Lorraine Threatt was born on August 26, 1974 in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was the beloved daughter of Richard “Lighting” Threatt and the late Rachel L. Holtzclaw Threatt.
Affectionately known as “Rain” accepted Christ as her Lord and savior at a young age. She was a faithful member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was a product of Sylacauga High School and graduated with the class of 1992. During her tenure at Sylacauga High, she was a proud member of the Lady Aggie Basketball Team, where they earned the title of 1992 5A State Champions.
Rain enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.
She fought a good fight, she finished the race, on May 21, 2025 under the care of UAB Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama, and now there is in store for her the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award her on that day. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rachel L. Holtzclaw Threatt, grandmother, Dorothy B. Holtzclaw Adair, grandfather, Richard Holtzclaw, grandmother, Mattie L. Threatt, grandfather, Roosevelt Threatt, and uncle, Ronald Holtzclaw.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her loving father, C. Richard “Lighting” Threatt (Janice) of Sylacauga, AL; son, Jaquan Threatt of Homewood, AL; two daughters, Jakiya Threatt and Jamesha Powell both of Sylacauga, AL; siblings, Frantz (Denise) Threatt of Fredericksburg, VA, Krystal (Jeremy) Welch of Sylacauga, AL, and Christopher Wheeler; grandchildren, Raegan and Laiya Threatt of Sylacauga, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, special relatives and special friends.
