Annie Mae Kelly

Annie Mae Kelly was born to the late Mary Anna Baker and the late William Aaron on February 21, 1930 in Lowndes County, Hayneville AL.  She departed life at the age of 90 on June 17, 2020 in Sylacauga AL surrounded by her love ones who cared for her.

She is preceded in deAnnie ath by her husband Lee Arthur Kelly Sr., daughter Loretta Kelly Wilson, daughter Robin Denise Kelly, grandson Toranda (Tim) Kelly, sister Ruby Rudolph, brother Eddie Dean, and grandson Demarius Kelly.

She attended school in Lowndes County and later left Hayneville at the age of 16 to live in Birmingham AL. where she later married and started her family with the late Mr. Lee Arthur Kelly Sr.  She started working at a young age expressing her independence in the city of Birmingham where she provided the best services showing her loyalty.  She was the Head Cook at Mary Lewis Nursing Center and later a Caregiver at Fairfield Nursing Home. She shared her love and generosity among everyone she became in contact with also raising and caring for many grand and great grandchildren as her own.  She touched the hearts of others. taking them in as family, turning no one away because her home was always an open home for others. She extended her love to everyone. She was an active member of Broad Street Baptist Church for over 63 years where she showed loyalty to her family and community until she became ill.

She leaves to cherish her memories; Four sons Jesse (Rebecca) Kelly, Sr. of Sylacauga AL, Lee (Betty) Kelly, Jr of Birmingham AL, Joseph (Dorothy) Kelly of Birmingham AL, Dennis (Viola) Kelly of Birmingham AL. Four daughters Brenda (Cleveland) Fox of Birmingham AL, Annie Marie Kelly of Birmingham AL, Carolyn Kelly of Birmingham AL, Susan (Joe) Hill. One sister Sarah Bonner of Chicago IL.  

Thirty-four Grandchildren: Demetrius Kelly, Lucy Parks, Tamika Parks, Latoya Parks, Charles Parks, Stephen, Huntley, Marcus Huntley, LaShaun Huntley, Quanterrick Huntley, Se’lecca Huntley, Jesse Kelly Jr., Katara Wilson-Clark, Shakendra Wilson, Lakeyia Wilson, Lorenzo Wilson, DeMarcus Fox, Felicia  Anderson, Lee Kelly III, Joshua Kelly, Duvall Craig, Nena Oledibe,  Tarnisha Kelly, Sha’Teka Kelly, To’Shearia Kelly, LaDarius Kelly, Joseph Kelly Jr, Jolanda Beachem- Kelly, Amine M Kelly, Latasha Kelly, Janika Kelly, Melvin Kelly, Shonnisha Kelly, Dennis Collins-Kelly and a host of  great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
