Ashia Denise Cohill was born on November 18, 1990, to the parentage of Mr. Phillip Bruno and Ms. Lorenda Cohill in Jefferson County, Alabama.
Ashia accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with True Light Community Church in Sylacauga, Alabama, under the leadership of Bishop Douglas Varner. She later united with Unity Christian Center in Alabaster, Alabama under the leadership of Bishop Sylvester Mixon Jr. Ashia was an active member and served in the Hospitality Ministry.
Ashia was a bright star in a dark universe. She was the type to never meet a stranger or enemy. She had a strong love for God, her daughter, family, and friends. She was well on her way with a bright future ahead.
She attended Talladega County School System where she graduated from B.B. Comer High School with the Class of 2010. After graduation, she attended Virginia College in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated in 2017 as a Certified Medical Assistant. She was currently enrolled at Lawson State Community College in their Nursing Program and was very well on her way to becoming an RN. While in Nursing school she pursued entrepreneurship, starting her own business as the owner of Rose Kreationz. She made various items for many different people that loved her unique work of art. Ashia also worked from home as Medical Claims Specialist through the event of Covid pandemic.
On Saturday, May 29, 2021, Ashia departed this walk of life in Birmingham, AL. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lorene Cohill Pope and Booker T & Ulysses Bruno.
Her love and precious memories will forever be remembered and cherished by her loving and devoted daughter, Aylah Rose Cohill Stone, loving mother, Lorenda Cohill (Darryl Blackmon) of Birmingham, AL; father, Phillip (Bobbi) Bruno of TN; one sister, Shaneaka (Codney) Brown of Sylacauga, AL; one brother, Ashton (Destiny) Cohill of Pell City, AL; a loving father figure to Ashia and Godfather to Aylah Rose, Darryl Blackmon of Birmingham, AL; three nephews, Jakari Brown, Jace Brown both of Sylacauga, AL; and Ashton Cohill Jr of Pell City, AL; one niece, Jalaya Brown of Sylacauga; special sister, Anjelica Hicks, special nephew, Aiden Hicks, serving grandparents, General Lucious (Virginia) Fort, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and special friends.
