Betty Jean Twyman

Ms. Betty Jean Twyman, a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, was born on March 21, 1939, to the parentage of William Frank Twyman and Rachel Pope Twyman in Talladega County, Alabama.

At an early age, Ms. Twyman accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Tallassahatchie Missionary Baptist Church, Childersburg, Alabama. She was a faithful member of the Usher Board, Missionary Society, Cheerful Givers Society, and was a part of the adult Sunday School.  Ms. Twyman received her formal education in the Talladega County School System and graduated with the class of 1958 at Phyllis Wheatley High School, Childersburg, Alabama.

Along Ms. Twyman’s life’s journey you could often find her sitting on the porch and playing dominoes with family and friends. 

Ms. Twyman departed this walk of life on January 5th, 2022, at her residence in Childersburg, Alabama.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William Frank Twyman and Rachel Pope Twyman, two sisters, Mary F. Keller and Mary L. Twyman, four brothers, Willie Pope, A.L. Twyman, William Frank Twyman, Jr.  And Noble (Benjamin) Twyman.

Her love will forever be cherished by her loving daughter, Rosie Nell Twyman of Sylacauga, AL; one grandson, Tymark L. Whetstone, Jr. (TJ) of Sylacauga, AL; four loving sisters, Pastor Rosie Twyman, Mary Alice Battle, both of Childersburg, AL; Josie T. Ware and Rebecca Twyman both of Sylacauga, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
