Betty Jewel Vines

Betty Jewel Vines earthly journey began on February 5th, 1942 in Sylacauga, Alabama to the parentage of Sid Thomas and Mattie Sims Thomas.  Mrs. Vines accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.  She was educated in both the Coosa and Talladega County School System. 

Mrs. Vines began her working career as a dedicated detrition at Spring Terrace Retirement Center for five years, and later was employed at Mountain View Lake Retirement Center and Nursing Home for twenty years before her retirement in 2018.

Along Mrs. Vines life’s journey she met and united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Fred Vines in May of 1971.

Betty J. Vines departed this walk of life on September 27th, 2022 under the care of Sylacauga Health and Rehab Center, Sylacauga, Alabama.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Sid Thomas and Mattie Sims Thomas, husband, Fred Vines, two sisters, Mary A. Harris and Annie Delois Thomas, one brother, Hulon Thomas, two nephews, Bobby Gamble and Donald Moon, one niece, Sheila Marie Shephard.

Her love will forever be cherished by one sister, Charelsie T. Johnson; four nieces, Regin D. Hayes, Lekeisha D. Delk, Cindy Norwood, and Felisha Thomas; two nephews, Cornelius L. Thomas and Joshua L. Delk; nineteen great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
