Bettye Joyce Hamilton - Woods, the beloved daughter of M.L. Fuller and Katherine Cowlin's earthly journey began on February 2, 1956 in Talladega County, Alabama.
Bettye accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She untied her faith with Mountain Grove Baptist Church, Childersburg, Alabama, where she was a faithful member and served as Sunday School Teacher.
Bettye received her formal education and attended Phyllis Wheatley High School in Childersburg, Alabama. Later she was employed by the Coleman’s at Coleman Cleaners in Sylacauga, Alabama where she was employed for many years.
Along Bettye’s life journey she met and united in Holy Matrimony to the late Clay Woods. Bettye’s life was full of joy and laughter. She was a loving and caring person who loved her family and friends.
Bettye departed this walk of life on Monday, April 1, 2024 at her residence in Childersburg, Alabama. In Heaven, she reunited with her parents, M.S. Fuller and Katherine Hamilton Cowlin, husband, Clay Woods, brothers, Howard Hamilton, and Arthur Hamilton, aunties, Essie Brown, Daisy Hamilton, Ruby Williamson, Earline Hamilton, and Mattie Lee Fuller, uncles, John C. Hamilton, L.C. Hamilton, Otis Jr. Hamilton, Roy Townsend, and Robert Hamilton.
Bettye’s love will forever be remembered by her two loving brothers, Charles Hamilton and Johnny Hamilton both of Childersburg, AL; sister, Mary L. Hamilton of Boston, MA; one aunt, Evelyn Ware of Sylacauga, AL; God Daughter, Jasmine Hall of Childersburg, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
