Billy “Bill” Wayne Borden, Sr. 's (also known as Dollar Bill) earthly journey began on December 8, 1949 in Sylacauga, Alabama to the parents of Frank Borden, Jr. and Miller Earl Pruitt Borden.
At an early age, Bill accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with St. John Missionary Baptist Church, in Sylacauga, Alabama. He later became a devoted servant at St. John sang in the church male chorus, mass choir, and served as the church’s janitor alongside his family for over 40 years.
Bill received his education at Mignon Public School in the Walco Community and graduated from Phyllis Wheatly High School with the class of 1969. During his tenure at Phyllis Wheatly, he played on the Panthers football team, basketball team, and baseball team. After receiving his education, he was employed with Imery’s, formally known as Georgia Marble, for a total of over 40 years, as a bulk loader, locomotive operator, and later became a shift supervisor.
Along Bill’s life’s journey, he met and united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Loretta Lee on August 4, 1972 in Sylacauga, Alabama. Bill had a passion for playing and watching sports. He had a special love for the Auburn University Football Team (War Eagle) and Dallas Cowboys.
Bill departed this walk of life on September 7, 2023 under the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Borden, Jr., and Miller E. Borden, sister, Daisy Wilson, brothers, Nathaniel Borden, MacArthur Borden, Curtis Borden, Frank Borden, III, Johnny Earl Borden, Leon Borden, and Fred Borden, and beloved grandson, Jacory Borden.
Bill’s love will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 51 years, Loretta Borden; two loving daughters, Ericka (Special Friend, Bobby) Borden, and Pamela (Robert) Vaughn; three sons, Billy W. (Special Friend, Carisa) Borden, Jr., Cory (Special Friend, Brea) Borden, and Tyrone (Jessie) Borden; two brothers, Terry Borden, and Roy (Ella) Borden; special niece, KiKi Borden; three sisters-in-law, Lillian Thomas, Willowdean Borden, and Doris Borden; one brother-in-law, Lewis Wilson; a special daughter-in-law, Angie Borden; fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
