Bishop Bobby Whetstone, Jr. Obituary

Bishop Bobby Lee Whetstone Jr. born on June 15, 1946 to Mr. Tommy Jenkins and the late Ms. Annie Muril Bennett.

First attended Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the male chorus then later became a member of Refuge II C.O.O.L.J.C. in Anniston, Alabama under the leadership of Bishop Milton Hill. Also served in the Alabama Northern Diocese under Bishop Charles Williams in Ashville where he was named District Elder. Then he became the Pastor of Refuge House of Praise Church in Sylacauga where he served as Pastor until his death.

He attended Sylacauga High School and Bishop William L. Bonner Bible College in Columbia S.C. He served in the U.S. Army for three years as a Unit Supply Specialist. Also receiving Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Rifle M-16 (Marksman), Hand Grenade expert and Army Good Conduct Medal.

Bobby was united in Holy Matrimony to Terranne (Kiki) Borden of Sylacauga on July 23, 2016.

Bobby received his crown and gained his wings on April 3, 2020 at home with his family.

Preceded in death by: His mother Annie Muril Bennett and Brother Tyrone Fitzgerald Whetstone.

Mr. Whetstone leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Terranne Borden Whetstone of Sylacauga, Alabama; three sons, Justin Borden, Del McMillian and Jason McMillian all of Sylacauga, Alabama; one granddaughter, Juniyah LouAnn Borden of Alexander City, Alabama; three brothers, Thomas Jenkins of Seattle Washington; Frederick Jenkins of San Bernardino, California; and Kevin (Maryann) Jenkins of Long Beach, California; two sisters, Tammy (Quin) Daniels and Anna Wilson both of Sylacauga, AL; father-in-law, Terry Borden of Sylacauga,Alabama; four brothers-in-law, Marcus Borden, Shawn Borden, Twan Borden, and Quin Daniels all of Sylacauga, Alabama; ten nephews, ten nieces, a special uncle and friend George Bennett, special friend Pastor Robert Hatton, and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. .
