Braxton Lamont Lenoard Obituary

Mr. Braxton Lamont Leonard was born on September 21, 1972, to the parentage of Briggs and Gertrude Leonard in Sylacauga, Alabama.

Lamont, as he affectionately went by, began his life journey with a solid foundation of faith, when he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.  He once served as the youth choir director.

He was educated in the Sylacauga City School System. He was a member of the Sylacauga Aggie Marching Band and was a part of the Show Choir.  He was a Sylacauga High School graduate with the class of 1990.  After high school he furthered his education at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama, DeVry University in Atlanta, Georgia, and Culinary School in Memphis, Tennessee. He worked numerous jobs in his adult life.

Lamont enjoyed cooking, dancing, and good conversations with his legs crossed, with family and friends.  Lamont left a loving impression with everyone he met.

On April 2, 2024, at Brookwood Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama, Lamont departed this earthly life and joined his grandparents, Briggs and Samantha Leonard, George and Ida Wilson, his sister, Crystal Leonard, aunts, Betty Rae McGhee, George Ella Townsend, Jewell Faye McGhee, and Florette Mathews, uncles, Ismail D. Wilson, Henry Pope Wilson, Dallas P. Wilson, Harry D. Wilson, John Leonard, Robert Lee Leonard, Caleb Samuel Leonard, and Willard M. Harris.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving parents, Gertrude Leonard, and Briggs Leonard (Nita) both of Sylacauga, AL; siblings, Sheila McGregor, Tommy McGregor both of Childersburg, AL, and Michael McGregor (Veronica) of Sylacauga, AL; aunts, Frances Harris of Cleveland, OH; Minnie Ruth Brown of Sylacauga, AL; Molly Wilson of Atlanta, GA; Lula Mae Wilson of Marietta, GA, and June Renee Caesar (Douglas) of Picayune, MS; uncles, Larry Wilson (Minnie) of Sylacauga, AL; cousin /brother, Reginald Wilson, Derrick Mathews, and Chris McGhee all of Sylacauga, AL; very special friends, Yulanda Duckworth, Christina Williams, Candace Hall, Nikki Goins, and A.
