Brenda Louise (Oden) Dubose

Ms. Brenda Louise Oden Dubose earthly journey began on December 20th, 1951 in Talladega County, Alabama to the parents of Obie McGhee, Sr. and Sallie Mae Oden.  At an early age Brenda, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Union Baptist Church, Stewartville, Alabama.  Later in life she attended and united with New Maryland Baptist Church, Alpine, Alabama.

Brenda received her education in the Sylacauga City School System, and graduated from East Highland High School, Sylacauga, Alabama.  After graduating she began her working career in the textile industry, employed with Avondale Mills Inc. and later she was employed with Russell Mills.  She was a dedicated and faithful employee at Lowe’s Home and Garden Supply Store.

Brenda departed this walk of life on November 25th, 2022, at her residence in Sylacauga, Alabama surrounded by family.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Sallie Mae Oden, father, Obie McGhee, Sr., sister, Connie Oden, two brothers, Billy Marcus Oden, and Victor Brian Reese. 

Brenda’s love will forever be cherished by her loving children, Corey Oden of Sylacauga, AL, and Saldamesha Swain of Birmingham, AL; one brother, Obie McGhee, Jr. of Dayton, OH; one sister, Michele (Timothy) Hickland of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Khori Oden, Christian Covington, and Kaisha Oden; one uncle, Sammie McGhee of Sylacauga, AL; one aunt, Celeste McGhee of Detroit, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
