Carry Ann Prier Obituary

Talladega, Alabama - Carry Prier, of Marksville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026. Born on September 2, 1954, Carry was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished matriarch whose life was deeply rooted in family, love, and togetherness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Agnes Andrews, and her siblings Elsie Austin, Josie Mae Lee, Frederick Andrews Jr., Mary Sue Holmes, Willie Andrews, Martha Andrews, Agnes, Batiste, Joseph Johnson, and Lester Andrews Sr.

Carry is survived by her four devoted children, Nickie Prier, Kyndra Singletary, Joey Prier (Andrea), and Marcus Prier; her sister, Joseline Jacob; nine grandchildren, Dejanara Warwick, Dekaisia Warwick, Nicholas Warwick, Markaisia Roy, Valery Whitfield, Anissa Barksdale, Kayden; three great-grandchildren, Ja’Kayasia, JaMetri, and Maze; her longtime confidant, Jerry Davis; and a host of relatives and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

Carry had a true passion for baking and cooking, often expressing her love through meals prepared with care. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and fellowship. She also enjoyed dancing and spending quality time with her family—whether playing cards, cooking for them, or simply enjoying one another’s presence. Family meant everything to Carry, and she made sure everyone around her felt welcomed and loved.

Scripture of Comfort

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”

— 2 Corinthians 5:8

Her legacy of love, generosity, and joy will live on through the many lives she touched. Carry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
