Charles Townsend

Charles Townsend earthly journey began on September 21, 1943 in Sylacauga, Alabama to the parents of John Wesley Townsend and Tavie Wilson Townsend.  He joined his parents, son, Kelcey Wilson, brother, Clarence Townsend, sister Annie Mae Coleman and other relatives in his Heavenly transition on July 31, 2023 in Birmingham, Alabama. 

Charles accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Friendship Baptist Church under the late Booker T. Wilson.

Charles was a dedicated employee with Parker Fertilizer for over 30 years.

Along Charles’s life’s journey he met and united in holy matrimony to Anna Wilson.  To this union they were blessed with six children.

Charles’s love will forever be remembered by his loving spouse, Anna Townsend; sons, Charles L. Wilson, Stacy Townsend and Ricky Nix; daughters, Cherryl Townsend, Precious (Bobby) Smith, and LaShelia (Jeremy) Brown; siblings, Hattie Wilson, Katie Taylor, and John (Lola) Townsend; grandchildren, Charles Oden, Nicandra Flenord, Tiyauna Banks, Kiaundra Banks, Kaleb Wilson, Madison Townsend, Morgan Townsend, Avery Brown, and Analeigh Brown; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
