Mrs. Charlie Mae Crayton started her earthly journey on January 26, 1935 in Titus, Alabama to the late Ernest Bozeman and Mary Holtzclaw. Mrs. Crayton joined her husband, Ezekiel Crayton, Sr., children, Maryann, Marliyn, and Henry Crayton and her grandparents in her heavenly transition on July 26, 2023.
Mrs. Crayton received her formal education in Elmore County and attended Sycamore School in Titus, Alabama.
Mrs. Crayton accepted the Lord as her personal savior at an early age and as an adult she united with Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Moss. She united with Union #1 Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Melvin Ervin. Where she served faithfully as the Sunday School Teacher. She later united with Miracle Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Eddie Lee Hunter and Pastor Trent Williams and served faithfully before her health declined. She united with Early Rose Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Develkio Wilson.
Along Mrs. Crayton’s life’s journey, she met and united with the late Ezekiel Crayton, Sr. Mrs. Crayton was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her family, and her family loved her.
Mrs. Crayton leaves to cherish her precious memories, five loving children, Josphine (Eddie) Gunn of Titus, AL, Ezekiel (Verlene) Crayton of Titus, AL, Tracey Crayton of Richville, AL, Cathy (Derrick) Calloway of Kellyton, AL, and Mauria (Keywayne) Richardson of Wetumpka, AL; one loving sister, Thelma Matthews of Buffalo, NY; sister in law, Peggy Crayton of Sylacauga, AL; and a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, special friends, Annie Thomas, Mary Ann Jones, Rev. Larry Wckoff, Eulice (King) Richardson, and other relatives and friends.
