Daisy Wilson Obituary

Mrs. Daisy Mae Borden Wilson was born in Sylacauga, Al on January 11, 1936 to the parentage of the late Mr. Frank Borden Jr. and Miller E. (Pruitt) Borden. She attended the Mignon Public School in the Walco Community.

At an early age, Daisy Wilson confessed her faith in Christ and was a devoted servant at Saint John Missionary Baptist Church. She served diligently on the Pastor’s Aide. She truly loved her pastor and the church family of St. John. If there were a need, Mrs. Wilson would do her part in ensuring that the need of the church was being fulfilled.

Daisy was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Lewis Wilson on February 3, 1973 in Philadelphia, PA. While living in Philadelphia, she was a dedicated home keeper to several families in her community.

In her spare time, Daisy Wilson had a passion and a love for cooking, gardening and ceramics. Daisy Wilson could grow the prettiest red and white pansies than anyone on her street. She was known for her potato salad, chocolate cake, and her famous sweet potato casserole. She was an avid baseball fan; her favorite teams being the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies. Daisy was an anchor in the Borden family and ensured that we came together; we could continue to create memories in love. Her smile was contagious and could light up any room. She never failed to share her love with anyone and for that reason alone; she will be greatly missed.

Daisy Wilson received her crown and gained her victory on January 3, 2020. She was preceded in death by son, Albert Cook; her father Frank Borden Jr. and her mother Miller Borden; beloved brothers: Nathaniel Borden, MacArthur Borden, Curtis Borden, Frank Borden III, Johnny Earl Borden, Leon (Marie) Borden, and Fred Borden.

Mrs. Wilson leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, Lewis Wilson, one loving daughter Dorothy (late George) Carter; four sons: Ray Charles (Monalita) Borden, Alfred L. Cook, Calvin (Willie Dell) Cook, and Randolph (Ramona) Cook; three brothers: Roy (Ella) Borden, Billy Wayne (Loretta) Borden, and Terry Borden; four sister-in-laws: Evelyn Wilson, Lillian Thomas Borden, Doris Borden, and Willowdean Borden; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; a special friend Ms. Simmons; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Let not your hearts be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:1-3
