Deacon Leon Cook was born on June 19, 1939 in Talladega County to the late Mr. Otis Cook and Mrs. Sadie Mae Patterson.
Deacon Cook was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Ora Lee Spidell on April 15, 1960.
Deacon Cook confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mountain Home Baptist Church, Sycamore, Alabama where he served as the head Deacon and was a member of the financial committee.
He was employed thirty plus years at Floyd Beasley in Sycamore, AL until the company closed, and then was employed with Heritage Freight Trucking Company in Sylacauga, AL until his health begin to fail.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, four sisters, and one great grandchild.
Deacon Cook leaves to cherish many fond memories, his loving and devoted wife of sixty years, Ora Lee Cook; two sons, Harrison Cook and Michael (Princess) Cook both of Sylacauga, AL; three daughters, Vanessa (Bishop Douglas) Varner, LaRita (Gary) McKinney and Tammy McElrath all of Sylacauga, AL; one sister, Ethel Ashley of Sycamore, AL; four brothers, Benathan Cook, Bernard Cook and Kevin (Joy) Cook all of Buffalo, NY; and Eugene Cook of Inglewood, CA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
