Demetrius Vonn Baker

Mr. Demetrius Vonn Baker earthly journey began on June 27, 1968, in Childersburg, Alabama.  Demetrius was the beloved son of Sam Baker, Jr. and Georgia Ann Chancellor Baker. 

At an early age Mr. Baker accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Mountain Grove Baptist Church, Childersburg, Alabama. 

Mr. Baker was a dedicated employee with the Quarry in Sylacauga and ECC of Sylacauga, Alabama. When he wasn't working, he took time to travel from state to state.  He was very adventurous and never met a stranger. 

Mr. Baker departed this walk of life on June 13, 2024, under the care of UAB Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Ann Chancellor Baker, brother, Curtis Baker, Dexter Baker, and grandson, Za’Mir Boyd. 

His love will forever be cherished by his loving daughter, Jade Baker of Birmingham, AL, and Ladaysha Baker of Birmingham, AL; son, Demetrius Baker, Jr. of Louisiana; father, Sam Baker, Jr.; siblings, Gary Baker of Childersburg, AL, Sammy (Larchetta) Baker of Pelham, AL, John (Sabrina) Baker of Childersburg, AL, Melvin (Kathy) Baker of Columbiana, AL, Sylvia (Jerome) Keith of Childersburg, AL, and Sharron Baker of Chelsea, AL; uncle, Gary (Cynthia) Brown of Childersburg, AL; aunts, Betty Ann Chancellor of Louisiana, Marie L. (Robert) Malone of Childersburg, AL, and Brenda Faye Keith of Louisiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
