Mrs. Dora Lee Pilate earthly journey began on July 15, 1926 to the parentage of Jolly Jackson and Para Lee Cook Jackson in Talladega County, Alabama.
Mrs. Pilate confessed Christ at an early age and united Corinth Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama and later united with Rising Star Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama.
Along Mrs. Pilate’s life journey she met and united in Holy Matrimony to the late J.C. Pilate, Sr.
Mrs. Pilate was a great mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Raising her eight children on her own, she taught them morals, values and always to be respectable and hard working. She had great pleasure in seeing them become successful and seeing them raise their children. Mrs. Pilate leaves a legacy that will always live through her children and their off springs.
Mrs. Pilate departed this walk of life on September 4th, 2021, surrounded by her family, in the comfort of her home in Sylacauga, Alabama. There waiting to welcome her home, her husband, J.C. Pilate, Sr., parents, Jolly Jackson and Para Lee Cook Jackson, three daughters, Diane Holtzclaw, Carolyn Hamilton, and Gloria Nix, two brothers, Dave Jackson and Ed Jackson, two sisters, Annie Ray Jackson and Excella Jackson, and a bonus grandson, Brian Garrett.
Her love and precious memories will forever be remembered and cherished by her three sons, J.C. Pilate, Jr., Tommy (Jane) Pilate and Dexter (Melissa) Cleveland all of Sylacauga, AL; two daughters, Janet (Ray Charles) Stone and Nanette (Danny) Mitchell; three son in laws, Jerry Holtzclaw, Cecil Hamilton, and James Nix, Jr.; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, six bonus grandchildren, four bonus great grandchildren, God son, Eddie Jackson, God daughter, Meta Eatman; the Darby/ Jackson families, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
