Dorothy Faye Swain began her earthly journey on April 12, 1966, in Shelby County, Alabama to the late Joseph and Eula Mae Swain. Dorothy Faye Swain better known as “Gullie” a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. On March 24, 2025, our beloved Gullie left an unforgettable impact on the hearts of everyone she touched, as she peacefully departed this life at the age of 58.
Gullie grew up with a strong sense of purpose and dedication to others. She attended Vincent Middle | High School, where she laid the foundation for a lifetime of service and achievement. After receiving her education, she was employed with various jobs. Later in life she was employed with Chevron with Techron Gas Station and Hometown BBQ & Grill in Childersburg, Alabama.
Gullie had a strong faith in God and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a faithful and dedicated member of Bakers Grove Baptist Church, Vincent, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one beloved nephew, Deandra Davis. She is survived by five loving children, Janelle Swain of Harpersville, AL, Courtney Swain of Sylacauga, AL, Alvin Swain of Childersburg, AL, Demetrius Swain of Childersburg, AL, and Darnell Swain of Sylacauga, AL; two sisters, Janie & Virgina Swain both of Vincent, AL, three brothers, Eddie (Angelita) Swain of Vincent, AL, Thomas Swain of Vincent, AL, and Joseph (Tonya) Swain of Indianapolis, IN; nineteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and special friends.
