Dorothy Mae Cohill Obituary

Dorothy Mae Ellis Cohill's earthly journey began on July 29th, 1956, to the parents of Mary Jordan and Willis Ellis Jr. in Shelby County, Alabama.  At an early age Dorothy accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with The Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Wilsonville, Alabama.

Dorothy received her formal education in the Shelby County School System and attended Shelby County High School. After receiving her education, she went and obtained her CDL and became a Shelby County Bus driver for Shelby County Board of Education for many years.

Along Dorothy’s life journey she met and united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. William Terrell Cohill and to that union three sons were born, Patrick, William, Jr., and Timothy. 

Dorothy departed this walk of life on October 21st, 2022, under the care of Shelby Ridge Rehab Select, Alabaster, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Terrell Cohill Sr., father, Willis Ellis, Jr., and stepmother Lillian Wood Ellis Swain

Dorothy’s love will forever be cherished by her sons. Patrick Cohill and William T. Cohill, Jr. both of Wilsonville, AL, and Timothy D. (Nicole) Cohill of Kansas City; two sisters, Jacqueline DeLelon of McDonough, GA, and Ethel (Tyrone) Eaton of Birmingham, AL; three brothers, Willie (Jessica) Walker of Wilsonville, AL, Zredrick Jordan of Lithonia, GA, and Rodney Jordan of Montgomery, AL; three brother -in- laws, three uncles, six aunts, and a host of other relatives and friends.
