Eddie Meas Dates

Ms. Eddie Meas Dates earthly journey began on April 14, 1961, to the parents of Silas B. Dates and Lovie Canada in St. Clair County, Alabama. 

Ms. Dates accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Coosa Valley Baptist Church, Vincent, Alabama.  She received her formal education in the Shelby County School System and graduated with the class of 1979 at Vincent High School. 

Ms. Dates worked various jobs during her lifetime and later was employed with Golden Oaks Living Facility. She was a faithful and dedicated caretaker and spent most of her time sitting with the elderly. 

On March 23, 2023, at Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama, Ms. Dates departed this walk of life and reunited with her father, Silas B. Dates, grandmother, Louise Dates, husband, Joseph Sparks, granddaughter, Anieya I. Jones. 

Her love will forever be cherish by three loving children, Isha Lemeas Dates, Joseph Dates, and Justin Sparks all of Childersburg, AL; loving mother, Lovie Canada of Cleveland, OH; brothers, Jerry (Suzanne) Dates of Vincent, AL and Phillip W. (Renee) Dates; sisters, Carol Y. Garrett of Alpine, AL, Barbara Anne Dates (Shawn) James of Pittsburg, PA, Joyce D. (David) Garrett of Vincent, AL, and Linda Ree Dates of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Diamond K. Williams, Devin M.A. Williams, De’Asia A. Cannon all of Childersburg, AL, and Gabriel M. Dates of Vincent, AL; uncles, Arthur (Peggy) Wallace of Brandenton, FL, Tyrone (Odelle) Wallace of Lansing, MI, Rodney (Phyllis) Lofeton of Philadelphia, PA; aunts, Dorothy Perry of Cleveland, OH, and Bobbie Wallace of Carrollton, GA; a special daughter in law, Lisa Sparks and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
