Mr. Edward Dwight Crawford “Crockett” was born on November 14, 1957 to the parentage of the late Esco Crawford and the late Earline Kelly Crawford in Sylacauga, Alabama.
Dwight accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, at an early age and united with Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama.
Dwight was a dedicated employee with Avondale Mills Corp. for 20 years. He later was a dedicated employee with Atlas for six years until his retirement in 2021. Dwight’s love for people never allowed him to meet a stranger. Everywhere he worked he preformed his duties well and was welled liked by his former co-workers. He was a true friend to many and believed in working hard and playing hard. He was fascinated with ole school cars and motorcycles. He loved entertaining family and friends while cooking on the grill.
Along Dwight’s life’s journey he met and united in Holy Matrimony to Marcella Isom.
On May 17, 2021, God called Edward Dwight Crawford to rest, at his residence in Sylacauga, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esco and Earline Crawford, grandparents, Mozell White Kelly, Green Kelly, Bea Goggins Crawford, and Garrett Crawford, brother, George Kelly.
His love and precious memories will always be remembered and cherished by his loving wife, Marcella Isom Crawford of Sylacauga, AL; one son, Andrae (Eryka) Crawford of Meridian, MS; one granddaughter, Kyla Crawford of Rock Hill, SC; three brothers, Henry (Bessie) Crawford, Alvin (Maxine) Crawford both of Sylacauga, AL; James (Rhonda) Crawford of Dale City, VA; three sisters, Dorothy (Lee) Garrett, Luline (Marvin) Simmons of Buffalo, NY; and Margaretta (Jackie) Wheeler of Sylacauga, AL; uncle, Euence (Smitty) Kelly of Cleveland, OH; aunts, Esther Kelly of Linville, AL; and Katie Sims of CT; sister in laws, Helga Kelly of Leimen, Germany; Mary Nell Peterson, Jessie Lee Harrison (Jackie) all of Sylacauga, AL; Joyce (Wes) Milligan of Birmingham, AL; Lena (Cliff) Hove of Los Angeles, CA; and Janet (Lawrence) Johnson of Salem, AL; brother in laws, O.D. Hill of Alexander City, AL; and Howard (Jennifer) Hill of Detroit, MI; special nephews, Terrell Barber (Tae) and Jeremy Wheeler (Fred); God daughter, Imani White; special neighbors, Eric and Christine Sapp, Brenda Hughes, and Betty Townsend and family, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
