Elwanda Black, age 72, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 under the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama. She was born to the parentage of Marshall and Kathleen Black on October 24, 1948.
Elwanda was a retired nurse, she loved Alabama softball. She was the first fast pitch pitcher on the first Women Softball team in Sylacauga, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marshall Black and mother Kathleen Black, sister, Penny Brooks and Kathy Gabie, brothers, Jerry Black, Cecil Black, Raymond Black, Buddy Black and James Black.
Elwanda love and precious memories will forever be remember and cherished by her daughter, Diane (Jug) Black; grandchildren, Ashleigh (Haley) Black, Janisha (Trey) Thomas, Jamara Thomas, Tiera Woods, and TJ Woods; great grandchildren, Miracle Thrash and Riley Ragland; brothers, Richard (Pat) Black, Bobby (Joan) Black, and Billy (Jenniffer) Black and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 2:00PM at Weogufka First Baptist Church, Weogufka, AL. Rev. George Wood will officiate service.
