Eric DeAngelo Wilson began his life on September 19, 1982 in Sylacauga, Alabama to the parents of Eric Wilson and Sandra Wilson. Eric was affectionately known as “Poonie, Cool Daddy or Apples” by family and friends. Poonie joined his grandparents, Lillian (Duffey) Wright, D.C. Duffey, Walter Wright, George Timmie Havis and Rush Johnson in his Heavenly departure on August 4, 2023 in Sylacauga, Alabama.
Poonie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and later united with Shekinah Glory Tabernacle of Praise in Sylacauga, Alabama under the leadership of Bishop Wendell Davenport. He received his formal education in the Sylacauga City School System and graduated with the class of 2001 at Sylacauga High School.
Poonie was a dedicated employee with Nemak Alabama Manufacturer in Sylacauga, Alabama and ButterMilk Hill Restaurant in Sylacauga, Alabama. He had a passion for cooking, eating and dancing.
His love will forever be remembered by his loving mother, Sandra Wilson; loving father, Eric (Gwen) Wilson; grandmother, Cora (Henry) Howell; three sisters, Porsha (Travis) Wilson, Patrice Lee, and Jamanda Wright; one brother, Travanti Dates; three nieces, Kaylee Kennedy, Ciarra Dates, and Caitlin Dates; two nephews, Tyler Wilson and Royce Wright; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
