Sylacauga, Alabama - Falanda Renea Huntley - Bright began her earthly journey on January 31, 1976 at Sylacauga Hospital, Sylacauga, Alabama. She was raised in the Sylacauga community by her parents, Wallis and Rita Wilson - Huntley. Given the nickname “Queen” she had a beautiful spirit and soul. She brought joy to her parents and siblings along the way.
Falanda education was very important to her, she excelled in advanced classes while attending Sylacauga High School and graduated with the class of 1994. She later pursued a degree in Computer Information System at Alabama State University, in Montgomery, Alabama. She was employed for over 10 years with Adtran, as a computer programmer.
At a young age in life, Falanda accepted the Lord as her personal savior and join Saint Thomas United Methodist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama.
Along Falanda’s life journey, she met and fell in love with her soulmate of 20 years, Mr. Robert Bright. Falanda and Robert proved to be inseparable by uniting in Holy Matrimony on April 22, 2004. Family was everything to Falanda, and she enjoyed entertaining family and friends with her funny jokes and humorous side. She had a passion for cooking for her family.
Falanda departed this walk of life on Sunday, September 8th, 2024 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her father, Wallis Huntley, brother, Paul Whetstone, and grandparents, Frank and Alberta Huntley, Ida Holley Wilson, and W.T. Wilson, great grandparents, George Holley, Mae Emma Corbin Holley, Joseph Wilson and Beulah Wilson.
Falanda precious memories will be cherished by her husband of 20 years, Robert Bright of Sylacauga, AL; loving mother, Rita Huntley of Sylacauga, AL; two brothers, Derick F. Huntley and Henry Whetstone both of Sylacauga, AL; uncles, Adale (Delores) Huntley of Rochester, NY, Herman (Vickie) Huntley of Jacksonville, FL; Michael (Jewel) Huntley of Sylacauga, AL and Wilbur Wilson (Gloria); aunts, Alberta Pettaway of Sylacauga, AL, Veronica Oden of Sylacauga, AL, and Vanessa Wadell of Rome, GA; three sister in laws, Mary Allen (Ivan Allen), Trayshell Williams (Eric), and Melinda Ford (Charles) all of Huntsville, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
