Glenda Ruth Miller was born to the late Alex and Essie Riggins on February 14, 1939.
At an early age, Glenda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. As a youth, Glenda was educated in the Coosa County School System and graduated from JD Thompson High School. She was a dedicated employee with Avondale Mills Corps for over a decade. Afterwards, Glenda retired and has been a shining star for her community.
Glenda departed this walk of life on August 25, 2021 under the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Essie Riggins, two sons, Gary Allen Owens and Cedric Darryl Owens, one grandson, Kameron Owens, five brothers, Thomas Riggins, Alex Riggins, Jr., Robert Riggins, Bobby Riggins, and Charles Riggins, Sr.
Her love and precious memories will be cherished by four sons, Kenneth (Terri) Owens, Andre’ (Lashawnda) Miller, Melvin Miller and Eric Morris all of Sylacauga, AL; one daughter Marilyn Miller of Philadelphia; nine grandsons, Darquan (Shekesha), Darius (Chantrelle), Kendall, Justin, Josh, Andrew, Raineer, Mitri (Katie), and Macy; one granddaughter, Aja; two great grandsons, Chase Owens and Parker Wilson; three sisters, Betty (Arthur) Buckner of Goodwater, AL; Patricia Holley of Sylacauga, AL; and Margaret Riggins of Rockford, AL; three brothers, Willie Riggins and James (Lesha) Riggins of Alexander City, AL; and Tony Hoyett of Opelika, AL; a very special host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
