Hardy Holt

Mr. Hardy Holt's earthly journey began on April 29, 1938 in Titus, Alabama to the parents of Willie Mason Holt and Emma Graham Holt.  Hardy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Rivers Chapel Methodist Church, Titus, Alabama. 

He received his education at Mt. Cannon High School in Elmore County, Alabama.  After receiving his education Hardy began his career in the textile industry and was a dedicated employee with Avondale Cotton Mill in Rockford, Alabama for many years until his retirement.

Along Hardy’s life’s journey he met and united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Annie Ruth Gilbert. Hardy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. 

On August 21, 2023, Hardy Holt departed this walk of life, under the care of Grandview Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Holt, father, Willie Mason Holt, two daughters, Rita Holt and Cathy Costley.

His love will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 63 years, Annie R. Holt; loving children, Gloria Williams, Stanley Holt, Jerry (Angela) Holt, Steven (Nicole) Holt, Harvey (Wanda) Holt, and Marcus (Andrea) Holt; loving siblings, Iteria Dunbar, Ella Roberts, and Sarah Parker; seventeen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three sister in laws, Bessie Jones, Bernadine Gilbert, and Brenda McElrath; one brother in law, Alonza Gilbert; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
