Hattie Mae Crowe Obituary

Mrs. Hattie Mae (Johnson) Crowe was born on March 20, 1929, to the parentage of Mr. Dave and Mrs. Ophelia Johnson in Childersburg, Alabama.

Hattie met James Crowe and they were united in Holy matrimony on March 15, 1959. They were married sixty-two years, to this union two children were conceived. Lou Ann Whetstone and James Crowe Jr., prior to the marriage she had two daughters, Betty J. (Johnson) Crowe, and Rosetta (Johnson) Crowe.

She attended East Highland of Sylacauga, Alabama.

She was formerly a member of the Enon Baptist Church in Childersburg, Alabama. Later she joined True Light Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the 1970s where she received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Mother Hattie was a faithful member until her health failed.

Mother Hattie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She lived a full and vibrant life of ninety-two years which she well earned the name “Granny”. We will always love and cherish her as well as the memories. She will be greatly missed.

Mother Hattie Mae Crowe departed this walk of life on June 2, 2021 under the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two great grandchildren, CaHoah Cousins and Amelia Crowe, and other relatives.

Her love and precious memories will always be remembered and cherished by her husband of 62 years James Crowe Sr., three daughters, Betty (Elder Howard) Crowe, Rosetta (Elder Donald) Crowe, and Lou Ann (Arthur) Whetstone, One son, James Crowe Jr., Two grandsons she raised, Undre Crowe and Adrain Crowe, One special grandson, Sandford (Debbie) Crowe, nine Grandchildren, Janice (Roscoe) McNeal, Cedric Crowe, Wendy (Elder Curtis) Burton, Pastor Antwan (Tiki) Crowe, Tiffany Crowe, Raven Coleman, Lorenzo (Kayla) Crowe, and Marcus Crowe; Fifteen great grandchildren, Victor Crowe, Kerri (Darrell) Currie, Meshia (TreMayne) Cousin, Na’Tasha Crowe, Dasia Crowe, Kendra Swain, Alvin Crowe, Keundra Crowe, Amelia Crowe, Latavious Crowe, Sanford Crowe Jr., Lamya Crowe, Datwan Crowe, Jakobi Garrett, Aaliyah McCoy and Shardasia Crowe; five great great grandchildren: Omega, Genesis, Jaceyon, Kendarrus, and Ivan; two brothers-in-law Pastor Marvin (Beverly) Crowe of Anniston, AL, Larry (Teresa) Crowe of Sylacauga, AL; sisters-in-law, Leola Crowe of Los Angeles, California, Shirley (Benjamia) Ware and Gurthie Jackson both of Sylacauga, AL and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
