Herbert Jewel Battle

Mr. Herbert Jewel Battle was born February 14, 1930 in Talladega County, Alabama to the late Mr. Early Battle and Willie Jones. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, five brothers and seven sisters. 

Mr. Battle accepted Christ at an early age with the Tallassachatchie Missionary Baptist Church.  He retired from Avondale Mills.

On August 7, 2019, Mr. Battle departed his walk of Life at Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, AL.

He leaves to cherish his memories a wife, Lillie Long of Newberry, SC; three children, Shunolon J. (Sandra) Battle, Elaine A. Battle, and Lucille Kinard all from Newberry, SC; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Pearly (Louise) Battle of Childersburg, AL; Early (Dorothy) Battle of Sylacauga, AL; one sister, Bettye (Lawrence) Calhoun of Alpine, AL; one sister in law, Lois Long of Newberry, SC; and one brother in law, Claude Long of Newberry, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
