Mr. James Harvey Welch, Jr. (Sweet J) was born to the late James Harvey and Lucille Welch, Sr. on November 27, 1953 in Talladega, AL.
Sweet J, was a retiree of the United States Army, National Guard, Talladega City School System. He also worked driving buses with Charter Bus and Tours. He shared his talent as a DJ, for many events.
Mr. Welch departed this walk of life on January 31, 2020 at Brookwood Medical Center, Birmingham, AL.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories a loving wife of twenty-three years, Susan Welch of Sylacauga, AL; eleven children, James H. (Melissa) Welch, II of Decatur, AL; Kinte (Sonya) Welch of Hunstville, AL; Tramaine Moore of Pell City, AL; Derrick Simmons of Alpine, AL; Jacarie Facen of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Jeremy Welch of Talladega, AL; and Matthew Welch of Sylacauga, AL; Niesha Smith, Kyra (Kameron) Gover both of Pell City, AL; Nazara Welch of Sylacauga, AL; six brothers, Marcellus (Riccoal) Welch of Lawrenceville, GA; Clifton (Rose) Welch of Munford, AL; Anthony (Alinda) Welch of Greenville, SC; Kirk (Sharon) Welch of Virginia Beach, VA; Barron Welch and Bruce (Regina) Welch of Rome, GA; and Perry Welch of Anniston, AL; sixteen grandchildren and one great grand children; Special friends, Kirk Patterson, John Patterson, and Jimmy Breaden; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, other relatives and and friends.
