James Trent Leisure Obituary

Sylacauga, Alabama - James Trent “Jim” Leisure, age 60, was born on May 24, 1965, in Hermiston, Oregon, and passed away on January 23, 2026, under the compassionate care of Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, Alabama.

Jim was the son of the late Charles Blaine Leisure and Loretta Burnside. He was known to all who loved him simply as “Jim,” a name that came to represent kindness, hard work, and a smile that never seemed to fade.

Jim attended trade school and earned his General Education Diploma. Throughout his life, he worked a wide variety of jobs, including oil rig work, auto body repair, and construction. Over the past decade, he dedicated himself to construction in many capacities, working with Reeson and most recently as a builder with Agape Farms. Those who worked alongside Jim will always remember his strong work ethic, reliability, and the pride he took in everything he built.

Jim was a man of deep love and faith. Pastor Donald Grice united Jim and Lacey in marriage, and they attended his church together. Jim lived his faith through his actions—by loving everyone he met, offering encouragement, and facing life with positivity and joy.

Above all else, Jim was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, and friend. He was the best and most wonderful husband to his wife, Lacey, and a loving, dedicated father to his young son, Layne. He was also a caring stepfather to Layla Pardue and Joel Pardue. Jim treasured time spent with his family, especially moments shared with his wife and son. Anyone who knew him knew his heart was full of love, and he gave it freely.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Charles Blaine Leisure.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Lacey Leisure; his son, Layne Leisure; stepdaughter, Layla Pardue; stepson, Joel Pardue; his mother, Loretta Burnside; and his siblings, Cheryl Leisure, Donna Bowe, and Randy Leisure, along with many friends who were blessed to know him.

Jim’s legacy is one of love, hard work, and unwavering kindness—a life well lived and deeply missed.
