Jeffery Dwight McKinney, Jr., affectionately known as “Bubba,” was born on November 4, 1992, in Ashland, Alabama. On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, he entered into eternal rest, leaving behind cherished memories that will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
Bubba received his education in Ashland, Alabama, graduating from Clay County High School, home of the Panthers, with the Class of 2012. He was a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church in Millerville, Alabama.
Dedicated and hardworking, Bubba served in the United States Army and later gained valuable experience working with Honda, Well Born, Kocks, and Madix. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, and his love for football and cooking brought joy to many around him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sarah Crease and Otis Crease, Jack McKinney, and Mary McKinney; and his uncle, Steve Hamp Simmons.
His loving memory will forever be treasured by his devoted parents, Erica McKinney and Jeffery D. McKinney, Sr.; sisters, Jada McKinney and Chloe McKinney; brother, Chase McKinney; nephew, Janear Ward; uncles and aunts, Glenda (James) Wycoff, Ronnie Simmons, Sandra McCain, Brenda Simmons, Pat (Robert) Ware, William Simmons, JoAnn Edwards, Debra (T-Won) Price, JD McKinney, Tracy (Sharita) McKinney, Valerie McKinney, Kelvin McKinney, Demetrius (Lakeisha) McKinney, and Nicole (TY) Robinson; Those who shared a special bond with him also include his great uncle, Harvey Odem, and his uncle and neighbor, John Simmons, two special friends, A.J. Dre Williams and Clayton Crawford, God brother, Jarvis Simmons, God sister, Jazalan Simmons, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bubba will be remembered for his warm heart, fun-loving spirit, and the joy he brought to every life he touched. Though gone too soon, his legacy lives on in the countless memories held by his family, friends, and community.
