Jerry "Chic" Holtzclaw Obituary

Jerry Holtzclaw earthly journey began on January 12, 1950 in Titus, Alabama. Affectionately known as “Chic” was the beloved son of the late Willie Lindsey Holtzclaw and the late Virgiree Mathews Holtzclaw.  Jerry accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Jerry received his formal education in the Sylacauga City School System. He was a graduate in the class of 1970 at East Highland High School.   After graduating Jerry was employed with Yellow Freight for 30 years until his retirement in 2007.  Afterwards Jerry was a serial entrepreneur, owning multiple businesses. 

Jerry was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family. If he was not working he enjoyed watching sports and keeping up with the news. Jerry loved helping others in need and wanted people to be the best version of themselves.

Jerry ascended to the heavens on February 4, 2025. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Diane P. Holtzclaw. Parents, Willie Lindsey Holtzclaw and Virgiree Mathews Holtzclaw. Siblings, Thomas Ray Holtzclaw, Sarah Holtzclaw Leonard, Ethel Mae Holtzclaw Hawkins and Earnest June Bozeman.

Jerry’s legacy will continue to live on through his son Cameron D. Holtzclaw Sr., Daughter Chaka L. Holtzclaw, Two daughter in laws Aspyn Holtzclaw and Kitta Holtzclaw, two grandchildren Cameron Holtzclaw Jr. and Arrow Holtzclaw. He also leaves behind two siblings, Geraldine   Holley and Wille Holtzclaw. And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
