Jerry Morris (Lil Jerry) Groce, Jr.

Sylacauga, Alabama - Jerry Morris Groce, Jr. affectionately known as Little Jerry, earthly journey began on August 9, 1971, to the union of Jerry Groce and Marva Jo Threatt Groce in Sylacauga, Alabama.  His earthly journey ended on Sunday, January 14, 2024, under the care of Baptist South Medical Center, Montgomery, Alabama, surrounded by his family. 

Jerry received his education in the Talladega County School System, and attended Childersburg High School, Childersburg, Alabama.  At a young age, Jerry accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with St. John Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama.  Where he was baptized and a devoted member. 

Along Jerry’s life’s journey he met and united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Mary Ann Walker. They were blessed with 29 beautiful years of marriage. 

Little Jerry was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan and had a passion for cars and traveling. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Groce, Sr. and Marva J. Groce.

Jerry’s love will forever be cherished by his loving devoted wife, Mary A. Groce; loving brother, Rodney Groce, loving sisters, Valencia Groce and Alicia (Calvin) Willis; three nieces, Britney Groce, Brooke Groce, and Aubrielle Tuck; one nephew, Rodney Groce, Jr.; two great nieces, Paisley Groce, and Brynlee Groce; mother-in-law, Betty Coleman; sister-in-law, Felecia walker; brother-in-law, Earl Walker; special friend, Michelle Lee; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life for Jerry Morris (Little Jerry) Groce, Jr., 52, will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Community Funeral Home Chapel, Sylacauga, Alabama.  Bishop Lodis McGregor, Eulogist.  Interment will commence in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Sylacauga, Alabama.  Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Community Funeral Home.
