Jerry Thomas Billingsley’s earthy journey began on October 8, 1952 to the parents of Willie Thomas and Mary Freeman. Adoptive parents, Thurman Billingsley and Minnie Maye Brown Billingsley in Eastaboga, Alabama.
Mr. Billingsley received his formal education in the Sylacauga City School System and graduated from East Highland High School, Sylacauga, Alabama. After receiving his education, he started his working career, driving freight trucks for Floyd & Beasley for 18 years, and later retired from Midsouth Produce Trucking Company after 25 years of labor.
Mr. Billingsley accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized on October 25, 2020 and united with Gathering of Christ Church in Atlanta, Ga, under the leadership of Bishop Baruch Arak.
Mr. Billingsley departed this walk of life May 20, 2023 under the care of UAB Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his adopted father, Thurman Billingsley, mother Minnie Billingsley, and sister, Mildred Billingsley.
His love will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Rose Billingsley; loving daughters, Jasmine Billingsley, Janece Billingsley, Shameka (Demetrice) Russell; loving siblings, Beatrice (David) Grundy, Bernard (Joyce) Billingsley, Charles Freeman, Willie C. (Barbara) Thomas and Mary Lois Thomas; loving in laws, Luella (Victor) Cameron, Carol (Esley) Colson, Gwen (Perry) Groce, Alfred (Sherry) Taylor, Kevin (Tameron) Ridley, April Ridley, Garnet Ridley, Jr., Shawn Mitchell, Trece Mitchell, and Michelle Jones; loving grandchildren, Mekiah Taylor, Michri Taylor, Justin (Fella) Ware, Journee Taylor Russell; half brothers and sisters, George Thomas, Teresa Thomas, Mary Thomas, Gloria Ann Thomas, Ella Mae Thomas, and Mary Jane Thomas; special friend, Wesson Datcher; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
