Mr. John D. Foster earthly journey began on August 31st, 1921, to the parentage of Mose Foster and Lue Ella Tripp Foster in Tallapoosa, Alabama.
Mr. Foster accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama. He received his formal education from the Sylacauga City School System and became a graduate of East Highland High School, Sylacauga, Alabama.
Mr. Foster was inducted in the United States Army on September 8th, 1942 and served three years. On November 26th, 1945, Mr. Foster was Honorably Discharged from his duties. He later became a dedicated employee with Olin Matchinson Corp. in Childersburg, Alabama. While employed, he operated light wheel equipment with cranes.
Along Mr. Foster’s life’s journey, he loved traveling throughout the woods hunting, sitting on the banks fishing, and farming during his younger years to provide for his family.
Mr. Foster departed this walk of life on December 26th, 2021, at his residence in Sylacauga, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lue Ella Foster and Mose Foster, son, Larry Foster, daughters, Linda Foster and Angel Foster, brothers, Woodrow Wilson, and Simmie Foster, sisters, Gracie P. Foster, Annie L. Gray, and Mable Bush.
Mr. Foster’s love will forever be cherished by three sons, John E. (Melody) Foster of Cleveland, OH, Marvin (Drucilla) Foster, and Felix Bonner both of Sylacauga, AL; one daughter, Joyce (Cloties) Steveson of Sylacauga, AL; one sister, Eva (Sonny) Patterson of Demopolis, AL; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
