Mr. Johnny Frank Williamson , lovingly called “Tank”, was born on October 11, 1959, to Johnny Frank Reynolds and Nellie Garrett in Sylacauga, Alabama. He matriculated through the Sylacauga City School System and graduated from Sylacauga High School in 1977.
Johnny accepted Christ as his savior and joined Early Rose Baptist Church, in Alexander City AL, where he served on the adult usher board.
Johnny had many favorite activities. He loved to watch Alabama football and celebrated the many wins of the Crimson Tide, by wearing the team accessories. The football team of the Alabama A & M University was also one of his favorite teams as he was elated to cheer for the Bulldogs during the Magic City Classic each year. Moreover, Johnny enjoyed seeing everyone smile at holidays as he was very meticulous about selecting the perfect gifts for his children, grandchildren and other family members. Additionally, fellowshipping with family and friends was also a favorite past-time. He loved his family and would visit whenever he had an off day and held them in high regard.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Nellie Garrett Williamson Reese; grandfather, Rev. E.G. Garrett; grandmother, Ella Swain; step-grandmother, Marie Garrett; sister, Norma Alexander; two aunts: Emma Lou Murray and Patricia Garrett Jones; and four uncles: James Garrett, William Earl Garrett, Rev. Jerome Garrett, and Howard Garrett; one great-nephew, Master Justice Lathan.
God saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. Johnny closed his loving eyes and entered into eternal rest on January 4, 2021.
Left to cherish his memories are: his loving children, Shameka Lashae Jones of Alexander City, AL; Joshua Morris (Latashia Rastegari) and Fitzgerald Thomas of Sylacauga, AL; a caring father, Johnny Frank Reynolds of Cleveland, Ohio; a loving stepfather, Lee “Tom” Reese of Sylacauga, AL; two sisters, Dawn Shenell Ashley of Huntsville, AL and Shandall Shevette Welch (Dwight) of Birmingham, AL; five grandchildren, Ja’Corieus Diquan Jones, Zyland Lauderdale, Ti’onna Watson, Jeremiah Thomas and Malakia Thomas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
