Joshua Lashawn Benson Swain Obituary

Our precious little angel, Joshua (PoundCake) Lashawn Benson-Swain, beloved son of Cornelius Swain and Miracle Benson Swain of Childersburg, Alabama was born on December 1st, 2021 in Sylacauga, Alabama.  Our beloved son went to be with our Lord on October 3rd, 2022 under the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his sister, Breonna Benson, grandfathers, Ronald Benson and Adolphus Keith.

The joy of calling Joshua our son was one of the greatest gifts from above. Watching him grow from birth to now has been a blessing.  From reading books with mom-mom, playing with your drums, playing and embracing love from your siblings and little cousins.  Oh, how we were waiting for you to take your first step and excited that you were already saying mama and dada. Even though our hearts are broken, your departure is Heaven's gain.

Our beloved son is survived by his parents, Miracle Benson-Swain and Cornelius Swain both of Childersburg, AL; grandmothers, Christine Stearns of Childersburg, AL, and Lisa Swain of Sylacauga, AL; siblings, Zion Benson-Swain of Childersburg, AL, Yasmine Swain of Birmingham, AL, Christian Benson of Childersburg, AL, Martez Fair of Childersburg, AL, and Cornelius Swain, Jr.; special cousin, Andrea Culpepper of Childersburg, AL; uncles, Charles Benson, Kendrick Swain, Demetrius Swain; aunts, Christy Benson, Ronda Benson, Carolyn Benson, Ashley T. Lewis, Raykisha Thompson, Felicia Murphy, Charlesetta Dunkin, Tamara Swain, and a host of other relatives and friends.
