Cathy Lynn Leonard, earthy journey began on January 20, 1961 to the late Alex Leonard and Edna Jean (Leonard) Maxwell in Talladega County. AL.
At an young age, Kathy, a beloved sister, aunt, niece, and friend accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Loving her church and having the heart of a servant she established the Hospitality Ministry and has served as president since it was established. She has served as church secretary. Kathy loved her church, pastor and members. She would work when and wherever she was needed. From Kitchen Ministry (cutting cake), van driver for everyone, working on the finance ministry, too writing and putting on plays for the church.
As a child, Kathy was educated in the Sylacauga City School System and later became a 1979 graduate of Sylacauga High School. She then went on to Herzing University in Birmingham, Alabama.
On March 7,2021 Kathy was called to her eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, sisters, three nephews and stepfather.
Kathy leaves not to mourn, but to cherish her memories, six sisters: Glenda (Len) Hill of Fortendale, AL; Minister Imogene Patterson, Clemmie Leonard, Gwen Leonard Williams, and Kathy Gardner of Sylacauga, AL; Teresa Jemison of Orlando, FL; three brothers: Alex Leonard, Ernie (Peggy) Leonard and Kenneth (Annie) Leonard all of Sylacauga, AL. two uncles: Albert Hale Sr. of Detroit Michigan and Hamp Maxwell of Sylacauga, AL; four aunts: Mary Sterns, Marie Reynolds, Ruth Anderson and Sally Pope all of Sylacauga, AL; A host of nieces, nephews, friends and church family. A special friend for over 30 years Mrs. Patricia (Hamilton) Johnson, two God Daughters: Ebony & Ivey Alford, two sweet caregivers: Jolia & Jose McKenzie.
