Katie L Hubbard

Ms. Katie L. Hubbard was born October 6, 1934 in Sylacauga, AL, to the late L. A. (Gaddis) Whetstone and Kelly (KC) Whetstone. 

She graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School. Katie worked as a cook, maid and laborer in the cleaning business from which she retired.

She was faithfully married to Walker Hubbard for 55 plus years, and was a awesome mother to her 5 children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

Ms. Hubbard accepted Christ at an early age.  She later joined Miracle Revival Temple under the leadership of Pastor Walter Carr for over forty eight years.  she was faithful to her ministry and loved her church home.  

Mom was a quiet and humble person, who worked hard to support her family, and to model Christ in her life to those around her, she was comfortable in any setting and seemed at ease to talk to anyone.  We will miss her quiet strength, loving voice and sound wisdom.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving children, Kelvin, Melvin, Sylvia, Eric, and Monica; her loving sisters sisters, Alice Whetstone, Joyce Pope, Deloise Slaughter, Lorine Whetstone, and Roberta Whetstone. She also is survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.

She is our Mom, sweetheart and friend and she will always be in our hearts.
