It is with profound sadness that we announce the homegoing of LaTonga Necole Houser, a beloved member of our family and community. Necole, affectionately known to friends and family as ‘Cole’ or ‘Coley Cole’, peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at her residence, in Sylacauga, Alabama at the age of 53.
Necole was born on August 10, 1971, in Sylacauga, Alabama to Willie Frank Black and the late Mary Jo Houser. From an early age, she exhibited a strong sense of family, faith, self, purpose, determination and resilience, qualities that would define her life’s journey.
Necole accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age as a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Later became a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She found peace and solace in her faith throughout her life.
Necole received her formal education within the Sylacauga City School System. She was a 1989 graduate of Sylacauga High School and later received her B.S. in Human Resources from Faulkner University – Montgomery, Alabama. As an employee with Sylacauga City Schools, she made a lasting impact on the students, faculty and staff.
Necole is preceded in death by her grandmother, Flora Houser, stepfather, Percy L. Hale, mother, Mary Jo. Houser and brothers, Christopher S. Houser and Trevan Hale.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving father, Willie Frank (Elaine) Black of Childersburg, AL; brother, T. Demond (Taneaka) Houser of Westover, AL; brother, Antoine Borden of Columbus, GA.; Gaylon Black of Atlanta, GA.; Dexter D. Hale, Goodwater, AL.; and Coreata Romero Houser of Birmingham, AL; uncles, Wayne (Lorraine) Houser of Harpersville, AL.; Thomas Jefferson Evans of Childersburg, AL.; and the late Jerry Houser of Tuskegee, AL.; aunts, Marilyn Molton of Childersburg, AL.; Mary (the late Michael Roy) Williams of Sylacauga, AL.; Denetta Houser-Lee of Sylacauga, AL.; Debra Houser of Sylacauga, AL.; Teresa (Derrick) Houser-Nunn of Waldorf, MD.; god-daughter, Caitlin Patterson of Sylacauga, AL.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Necole’s warmth, kindness, caring and sense of humor endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all who were touched by her presence. The world was a better place with her in it.
