Larry Charles Hughes life’s journey began on April 3rd, 1958, in Sylacauga, Alabama to the parentage of Marvin Hughes, Jr. and Bernice Stone Hughes.
Mr. Hughes accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. He was educated in the Sylacauga City School System where he graduated with the class of 1976. He furthered his education and attended Alexander City Junior College and University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
Mr. Hughes served in the United States Army for three years and received numerous ribbons and medals. In 1988 he received his honorable discharge. Mr. Hughes was a dedicated employee with Samlip Alabama LLC, as a Manufacture Operator, in Alexander City, Alabama. Later he was employed with Talladega Machinery Specialties as a Sandblaster, in Pell City, Alabama.
Mr. Hughes departed this walk of life on May 18, 2022, under the care of St. Vincent St. Clair Medical Center, Pell City, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Hughes, Jr., one sister, Carol Ann Hughes and grandparents.
His love and precious memories will always be cherished by his loving mother, Bernice S. Hughes of Sylacauga, AL; three brothers, John Wayne (Deborah) Hughes of Sylacauga, AL, Lieutenant Commander Cedric A. (Rev. Sharon) Hughes of Atlanta, GA, and Christopher Lee (Sheree) Hughes of Sylacauga, AL; three sisters, Denise Cook, Patricia Ann (Pastor Lorenza) McIntyre both of Sylacauga, AL, and Margaret Diane (Charles) Jackson of Atlanta, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
