Latoya Shavone Peterson earthly journey began on February 8, 1981, in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Peterson and the late Annie B. Peterson.
At an early age Latoya accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Sylacauga, Alabama.
Latoya received her education at B.B. Comer Memorial High School in Sylacauga, Alabama. She furthered her education at a Math and Science School in Mobile, Alabama. From there she attended Talladega College where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. She also attended The University of West Alabama, where she received her Master of Arts degree in Teaching Mathematics.
Latoya was a member of the esteemed finer womanhood of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
Latoya departed this walk of life on February 8, 2025 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama, under the care of Enhabit Home Health. In Heaven she will be reunited with her parents, Robert and Annie Peterson and brother, Jeffrey Peterson.
Latoya’s love will forever be remembered by her living nephew, Jacoby Bradford of Gardendale, AL; sister, Wendy Peterson of Sylacauga, AL; four Aunts, Rose Austin of Sylacauga, AL, Queen (Walter) Sims, Mamie Minnifield, and Barbara Harvey all of Sylacauga, AL; two nieces, Yoshiky Peterson of Sylacauga, AL, Sherkeeca Peterson, and Chelsea, AL; two great nephews, Korbyn and Kaleb; one God-son, Uriah Braxton of Montgomery, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
